We deliver on He Rangitapu He Tohu Ora (our Wellbeing Framework) and Te Aka Rautaki ki te tau 2026 (our strategic plan) in three ways.
We enable the people of Tairāwhiti by supporting initiatives that will deliver community wellbeing impact and outcomes. The Trust also collaborates with other funders and partners to enhance our impact.
Preserving capital is essential for the financial sustainability of the Trust. Finding a balance between the amount available now and retention for future generations remains a critical consideration.
The Gisborne District Council, and our communities, continue to reinforce the view that the Trust is best placed to deliver the roles of Economic Development Agency (EDA) and Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) on behalf of the region.
The EDA and RTO functions have led to the Trust filling the roles of 'economy lead' in Rau Tipu Rau Ora, the Tairāwhiti recovery plan, and programme manager of the Tairāwhiti Economic Action Plan (TEAP).
We offer critical thinking, leadership, advocacy, and insight into regionwide conversations.
