"Accessible through the Trust website, the short survey asks questions around the areas of business affected by lockdown, types of support that would be useful, uptake of Government financial support and employee wellbeing.

Richard Searle, general manager of regional economic development, says the survey is designed to provide valuable insights for regional decision makers.

"The survey findings will help the Trust understand the impacts of this lockdown compared to last years, and also understand what is needed most for businesses to recover and get back to business as usual when the alert level comes down."

Survey insights will be shared with Rau Tipu Rau Ora (RTRO), the regional COVID-19 recovery governance forum. This forum includes the mayor, chairs of local iwi authorities as well as Trust Tairāwhiti, Eastland Group, Eastland Institute of Technology and Hauora Tairāwhiti.

RTRO can then present regional advice to central Government.

"We"d like as many business owners and operators as possible to complete this survey to ensure we get a clear picture of how they"re going, and work to provide practical support for future recovery," Mr Searle said.
