The Tairāwhiti business panel included the Trust's general manager of economic development Richard Searle, Hauora Tairāwhiti medical officer of health Dr Osman Mansoor, Sergeant Isaac Ngatai from Gisborne Police and Summah Thorpe, human resources partner from People Plus.

The discussion was held to cover some of the questions the Trust has been fielding from local businesses about operating in the traffic light system.

While there has been further clarification from the government since the framework came into effects, the discussion was a starting point to cover the financial support available, affects on employees, compliance and vaccine information.

"We"re seeing businesses and employees are adapting quickly to work within this framework despite some uncertainty around the finer details," Richard Searle said.

"Our economic development team will continue to work with the business community and assist wherever possible, answer their questions and provide up to PublishDate information as it comes available."
